Switchboard LGBT is a national, confidential support line in the UK for anyone identifying as LGBTQIA+ or questioning their sexuality and gender identity. Staffed entirely by LGBTQIA+ volunteers, the helpline provides a non-judgmental space to discuss relationships, mental health, and sexual health.

The Clare Project is a Brighton-based, community-led charity that provides essential support, resources, and social connection for Trans, Non-Binary, and Intersex (TNBI) adults across Sussex.

The Ledward Centre is Brighton’s first dedicated LGBTQ+ community and cultural centre. Located on Jubilee Street, it provides a safe, sober social space designed to combat loneliness and celebrate queer culture through a cafe, gallery, community radio, cinema, and meeting rooms.

The Queery is a volunteer-run LGBTQ+ co-operative and sober community space located in Kemptown, Brighton (46 George Street, BN2 1RJ). It operates as a pay-as-you-feel vegan café, a radical bookshop, and an art gallery, offering a safe, fully accessible environment for queer individuals and allies.

The Back Off. Back Up. (BOBU) initiative in Brighton is an LGBTQ+ safety and inclusion campaign. Launched by mother-and-son team Luciana and Nicholas Cousin alongside the charity Across Rainbows, BOBU helps protect vulnerable individuals experiencing hostility or feeling unsafe during nights out in the city.

The Sussex Beacon is a Brighton-based charity and specialist medical center that supports people living with HIV across Sussex. Evolving into the UK’s first dedicated LGBTQ+ hospice, it provides a safe, inclusive, and stigma-free environment for specialized palliative and end-of-life care.

Lunch Positive is a highly regarded, award-winning charity in Brighton & Hove that provides a safe, welcoming, and peer-led space for people living with or affected by HIV. Operating primarily as a weekly lunch club, it offers healthy hot meals, essential social connection, and vital peer support.

Scene Magazine is an independent LGBTQ+ lifestyle and community publication based in the UK. Operating from the heart of LGBTQ+ life in Brighton & Hove, the magazine provides journalism, arts and culture coverage, and political reporting, alongside support for the Pride Community Foundation.

Stonewall Housing is the only charity in the UK dedicated exclusively to supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer (LGBTQ+) people of all ages who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Founded in 1983, the independent charity provides free, confidential housing advice, advocacy, and safe supported accommodation.

Not A Phase is a UK-based, trans-led grassroots charity that supports and uplifts trans and gender-diverse adults. In Brighton, they operate a vital local chapter focusing on community building, peer support, and their signature Misfits wellness and fitness program.
